M33 (3) Oil-water separation tank - N GAUGE -
Picture includes illustration of model when completed, requires assembly and painting.
Model can easily be used on its own in a variety of modelling scenarios to add visual interest.
Industrial water treatment facilities cover a multitude of activities as part of the purification process before water can be returned to rivers and municipal drainage systems after use in manufacturing processes. Sometimes used water is recycled for local re-use but further processes must take place to eliminate possible health risks.
One particular process is the separation of oil from water. Dependant on waste-water volumes being processed the equipment used varies in size, with soiled water being pumped through tanks where the separation takes place. Although this equipment is connected to other processes via pipework, when placed externally this interconnecting pipework is often run out of sight with supply, collection and return pipes turning down into tanks, bunkers or semi-covered trenches below ground level.
We have selected a tank size that would be seen outside either singularly, double or triple-banked for 2 or 3 phase processing, suitable for N-Gauge 1:148 to 1:160 scale size modelling. If required interlinking pipework can be achieved using our industrial Pipework & Fittings kits and particularly the Large Pumps and Pipework kit, with pumps often directly connected to the tanks, both kits being available separately. The actual tanks are often coloured in light blue, green or grey. Pipework would be black or grey and valve hand-wheels red, however these colours are not exact being a matter of choice. The base and tank supports can be a hint of green-beige to represent concrete block finish
